Diamond Waste is honore by Anne Arundel County School Board

Anne Arundel County Public School Board
Recognizes Diamond Waste Donations
As part of its commitment to environmental and community responsibility, Diamond Waste seeks to educate area businesses and students regarding new recycling options. Diamond Waste is pleased to help the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. As members of the local community, it's a way for us to give something back. Here is what the School Board had to say:

"Members of the Board and Dr. Maxwell, we are very proud of today's honoree because its contribution to our schools is the kind of community partnership we are seeking – and we certainly hope other companies will follow the example that has been set.

Diamond Waste Services, Inc. has contributed building materials that have been utilized in the Building Construction Program to support the development of student skills in residential wall framing and roof construction at our Center of Applied Technology Campuses.

In an economic recession, schools feel the pinch to do 'more with less money,' so valuable community partners are even more essential during lean times. We don't want to underestimate how much of a sacrifice it is for companies to contribute or to continue to contribute like this during these difficult times.

Diamond Waste's donation of wood was used by CAT South to teach lessons on safe handling of lumber, techniques to disassemble wood, pulling nails properly, better use of hand tools, stacking and storing of lumber and learning about different brackets and hangers. At CAT North, the materials were used to prepare student competitors for the State Skills USA Carpentry and Teamwork Competition. In addition to our Centers of Applied Technology campuses, various truckloads of recycled lumber also went to some of our middle and high schools to be used in the Tech. Ed. classes.

A partnership has been formed and Diamond Waste plans to continue working with our schools to supply other materials as they become available."
